I want to connect my Garmin Nuvi 360 to my Mazda 6 car stero. I know how to connect it via an FM modulator, but can I make it so it will interrupt what I am listening to in order to state the commands (not over the music)? Any thoughts?

How do they make it interrupt the music on built-in navigation systems?

No, but you can play MP3 files through the car stereo from the Garmin Nuvi if you use a cassette adapter.

Download your MP3 audio files to the Garmin and play them while you're driving. The Garmin will interrupt the music when it needs to state a command. Use a cassette adapter (they usually come with CD players) and hook it up through the headphone jack and to your cassette player so you can hear the Garmin through the car's stereo!

What I want to get are the local streets for northeast Ohio. Do they have to be bought? It seems crazy to have to pay as much for the software as I did for the unit.

Sorry, but yes.

You can purchase a GNS system from garmin, they'll set you back about $12,000 USD:

I live in the UK, i dont want a well high tec one i just want one that does the job and has camera alerts, can you get ones that alert you to mobile or handheld or old bill van ones? or do they only do fixed cameras like gatso's? thanks alot.
What about the viamichelin x950 or RAC satnav 200?

Don't bother, save your money and buy a new road atlas, far more accurate and cheaper

I am planning of putting a new sunroof and navigation system to my new altima 08, but will adding these features from a aftermarket void my warranty, or will the dealership tell me something if i do. I dont know anything about what they do if i put those feature in the car. Please help. I would really appreciate your answers.

A reputable after market shop can put in a sunroof with no warranty conflicts; also, the sunroof should be warranteed by the supplier. If you're going to use a nav system that simply plugs into the lighter outlet, there are no problems with your factory warranty on the car. All you're doing is using the 12 volt power supply.

I have narrowed it down to about three different ones. the tom tom One 3rd edition. or the Magellan Maestro 3100. or the Garmin nuvi 200 . if anyone has any of these can you please let me know your reviews?
Thanks

I have been reviewing GPS reviews in my search for one this holiday season (a gift from me to me). The link below goes to a website with LOTS of reviews of GPS systems, including all three that you named.

By the way, I have absolutely no affiliation with the website (or any other website for that matter). It just has a boatload (or any other load) of information on GPS devices.

Good luck.

Actually, NO...!! Unless yours is found by the serial number, but what are the chances.... They are one of the most stolen items from cars this year. Don't leave your car with one in sight.!! Even with just the suction cup window mount, your car may be broken into, thinking your GPS may be under the seat, or in the glove compartment..

i always thought that a dedicated gps system is a waste of money. i feel that getting a multi purpose electronic device which also works as a gps is a better bet. examples are cell phones with gps capabilities and electronic organisers. i bought a palm tungsten with a gps system using tomtom software. it comes with bluetooth for connection w the gps device. it functions well as an organiser for calendar, calculator, spreadsheets, email, games as well as a gps system when i needed it. it also comes w a car kit for mounting it onto your wind shield and chargers (both for the car and home). it costs about the same price as a mid-range magellan.

consider going this option, it's a lot more value for your money

Just looking for a good GPS system specially the software that has the best or most complete add database for a truck driver.Specialy 7-11 stores(I deliver gas to 7-11 stores all over central Florida)

I'd go regular streets and trips route. (pardon the pun) The routing software you'll find for us in commercial trucks is going to be expensive, and packed with features you'll not be able to use. (ie: cross country routes, and toll calculation for N.Y. etc) Streets and trips, or an equivalent will give you the option to show or hide info. Ya could set it to hide everything but gas stations.........It's remarkably detailed and up to date. Myself, I get routes and directions through the Quallcomm, then run the same route through my laptop, and compare the two.

i am looking at the nuvi 360 but it says that you need a certain subscription for these updates to work? i am confused

The nuvi 360 is enabled to receive the data from the subscription which gives you day to day changes to the traffic and weather updates. Without the subscription you will not receive the changes as they occur.
